The legend of BIG fish began in a tiny office space–truly a fishBowl—in April of 1998. Co-founders Thomas Frank and Wanda Ng were driven by the idea of creating a true creative agency, one known as much for its great design as for its great service. On the 3rd floor of an old, dilapidated building that housed a Chinese resturant and a temple that sent the smell of incense floating through the ventilation, their work flourished and the company quickly grew.



Over 12 years have passed since the Chinatown days and, although we have changed our logo and our locations as well as added new faces and services, Project BIG fish is still driven by the same ideals of quality design and dedicated service. As an established and experienced design agency, Project BIG fish is among the top DC firms and is quickly becoming known for its work across the United States and worldwide.

The Washington Business Journal recently named BIG fish one of the metro area’s top 25 graphic design firms. "We are honored to have been included on WBJ’s list. Although the DC area does not always receive the same recognition of such places as New York for its creative firms, this area is producing some award winning work, and we are proud to be among those great firms. This year, Project BIG fish has expanded to England, Peru and Africa with a variety of association, non-profit and corporate work. Most notably, Project BIG fish is rebranding the Gede Foundation and producing a documentary highlighting the success of Gede’s programs in Africa.

Project BIG fish has also released the latest version of our own website content management system called Fin. Most of our clients have limited knowledge about maintaining a website and need a system that is easy to maintain—Fin was specifically and uniquely created for these reasons.
